Founded in 1982, PassinArt: A Theatre Company is Oregon's longest-producing Black American theatre company. We provide opportunities for emerging and experienced artists (youth and adults), playwrights, and directors to fine-tune their talents and make notable plays come alive on metro area stages.

Your generosity will support PassinArt’s key programs:

Pacific Northwest Multicultural (PNMC) Readers Series and Film Festival 2025:  Four days of new works for stage and screen by local, regional and national writers from multiple cultures and perspectives—all showcased under the festival theme, Celebrating our Differences Together.

Play Reading Mondays at the Albina Arts Center: Cultural, spiritual and social themes that promote healing, well-being, justice and joy within and across generations and cultures.

PassinArt Youth Theater Academy: Offering all aspects of theater arts to children, youth, and teens in a culturally intelligent curriculum where they build skills and explore career opportunities in technical theater.

PassinAart’s  community impact includes educating audiences about the history of Black theatre; providing employment for playwrights and artists; offering discount tickets to increase arts access for low-income, diverse audiences; and, educational arts programming.
